John Prowers House

The John Prowers House is a two-story, U-shaped adobe house with 14 rooms located in Boggsville, Colorado. The house was owned by John W. Prowers, an influential merchant and rancher in Boggsville. By Prower’s side was his wife Amache, the daughter of Cheyenne Chief Lone Bear. Prower’s was able to obtain his extensive open range because Amache was able to acquire land that was part of the reparations of the tribes. Over the years, the John Prower’s house not only served as a living quarters but as a town center, stagecoach station, school, and political office.
