Originally, the Monnow Valley Recording Studio was the rehearsal facility of Rockfield Studios, the world’s first residential recording studio. The studio was created by brothers Charles and Kingsley Ward. Once the brothers went their separate ways, Charles took full ownership of Monnow Valley and converted it into an independent studio. While Ward still owns Rockfield Studios, the residential studio has gone through multiple ownerships, and it is currently run by Jo and James Hunt. Monnow Valley has been used by many artists throughout the last 40s years including Led Zeppelin, Queen, and Black Sabbath. The recording studio is located in Rockfield, Monmouthshire, Wales.
