The Museo de Arte Acarigua-Araure was founded by Ali Cordero Casal in 1987 to promote contemporary art through exhibitions from Acarigua, Venezuela. That same year, it was established in the Museum of Fine Arts on December 22, 1987. The Museum of Fine Arts is a non-profit with a mission to provide financial support for the creation and operation of the Museum. The Museum was awarded the headquarters of the Old Páez Club from the 1950s in April 1988. The exhibits include local and international contemporary art.
