In 1993, the old underground cistern of the Sa Bassa Blanca was refurbished to accommodate particular collections of children’s portraits from the 16th century to the 19th century. The Museo Sa Bassa Blanca finally opened its doors to the general public in 2001. Viewed as one of the Museum’s fascinating spaces, the Sokrates space revolves around the installation “Juke Blue” by James Zurrells, inspired by Einstein’s formula that defines the relationship between space and time. The Sokrates was installed in the Spring 2017. One of the main purposes of the space is to make viewers rethink the concept of the traditional museum and art.
