Originally, the idea of a museum for Isalmic civilizations came from Nadia Karmous, who wanted to offer a space for Muslim culture in Switzerland. MUCIVI was officially opened in 2016. Located in the La Chaux-de-Fonds, the museum is able to offer many opportunities to the Muslim population in the area. The Museum of Islamic Civilizations retraces 15 centuries of history concerning the civilizations of Islam. Each room of the museum is staged in ways that uniquely introduce visitors to the wealth, plurality, and dynamism of Islam.
