The Penlee Lifeboat Station is located in Newlyn Harbor, Cornwall. The lifeboat station has a rich heritage of being the first Lifeboat Station in Cornwall as well as the thirteenth Lifeboat station in the United Kingdom. The station was moved to Cornwall in 1983. The Penlee Lifeboat Station has two lifeboats, ‘The Ivan Ellen’ and ‘The Mollie and Ivor Dent.’The ‘Ivan Ellen’ is a part of the Severn Class. Initially, ‘Ivan Ellen’ replaced Mabel Alice in 2003. It cost the Penlee Lifeboat Station 1.8 million Euros. The Penlee Lifeboat features the ultimate in high-tech electronic equipment including radar, radio, and satellite.
