Phaltan Palace

Officially named Mudhoji Manmohan Rajwada, the Phaltan Palace is a 19th century home located in the city of Phaltan, Maharashtra, India. The Phaltan Palace was the maternal home of Sambhaji Maharaji, the son of the founder of the Maratha Empire. The construction of Mudhoji Manmohan Rajwada began in 1861. It was completed on May 6, 1875; an addition to the palace was added in 1911. The palace compound comprises residential buildings, multiple temples, and courtyards. The architectural styles of the Phaltan Palace are reminiscent of Indian culture of the time. Since the palace is a private residence, the site is not open to the general public. The opulent, royal home has also been the setting for numerous Bollywood films such as Khatta Meetha.
